Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

At First Settlement Physical Therapy, we are proud to offer women’s health physical therapy.

A women's health physical therapist is someone that receives specialized training to treat issues of the pelvic floor.

What Is Treatment Like?

At FSPT, we understand that these symptoms can be completely unfamiliar and embarrassing to talk about. It’s important to know that you are not alone. Our evaluations are done in a private treatment room where our female physical therapist will get in an in-depth discussion about your experience such as your symptoms, medical history, and lifestyle.

After the discussion, a hands-on evaluation will be done and, in some cases, an internal exam is needed. That exam is done without tools and helps the physical therapist get a better understanding of the strength and flexibility of your pelvic floor muscles.
